SHORT DESCRIPTION: 

This permanent exhibition was conceived by the collector Sergio Rosa, who over time gathered school materials related to primary (elementary) education. The collection includes documents and teaching aids dating from the late 19th century to the 1950s. While reading through the various notebooks he had found, Sergio Rosa came across an essay written by a pupil from Fanna, in which the student described in great detail what his classroom was like. Based on this account, the classroom of that period has been faithfully reconstructed in a small room, with all historical details carefully respected. With the help of skilled carpenters and artisans, Sergio Rosa and Claudio Maiorana restored and adapted the space in order to place teaching aids and furnishings in their original positions. Textbooks and notebooks have been arranged not chronologically, but by subject. The accuracy of the reconstruction is particularly noteworthy, as all the documentation is original: there are no photocopies, and all paper materials are authentic. The exhibition provides an objective and comprehensive overview of the Italian school system during the period presented. All subjects and student activities of the time are represented. Visitors can also view certificates and report cards, which offer a complete picture of elementary education and the assessment methods used for pupils.
