SHORT DESCRIPTION: Palcoda is a small mountain village that can be reached from Tramonti di Sotto. Until a century ago, it was inhabited by about 130 people, some of whom worked in the trade of hats destined for northern Europe. The crisis after the Great War and the emigration affected this community and the village was progressively abandoned by its inhabitants. Since then Palcoda has become a ghost village surrounded by wild nature.
Today, the remains of some houses are still visible, as well as the local church, which was renovated in 2011. The remains of houses, smithies and stone walls, together with the idyllic streams and the lush forests, create a fairytale atmosphere where the sounds of wilderness and the echoes of history resonate in harmony.
